This week Year Four had the opportunity to choose their own learning in history. The theme for this week’s choosing grid was sacrifice.
It was rather gruesome and macabre, but we have to say that we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
The choices of activities were:
Activity 1:(Evaluating): ‘AZTEC SACRIFICE WAS BARBARIC AND WRONG’ : Prepare a short presentation/ speech to support or oppose this statement/ opinion.
Activity 2:(Remembering): Create a RAP to tell your class about Aztec Sacrifice !
Activity 3:(Creating): Prepare a short report to share with the class about your findings (using Powerpoint ).
Activity 4:(Analysing): Write a diary entry as if you are a child about to be sacrificed, expressing your feelings and emotions (You may choose to be distraught or honored to have been selected).
Activity 5:(Creating): Design and make a clay model of an Aztec god/goddess that could have existed in Ancient times, adapted to the culture there and explaining its purpose and how/why people would pray to it and worship it.
