Super Scientists! Investigating how we hear sound

Today, we were investigating how sound travels through a medium to our ears. We investigated how sound travels through the medium of solids by making ‘plastic cup telephones’.

We found out that sounds can travel through solids, liquids and gases.

“Sound travels best through solids because the particles are in a fixed position and are tightly packed together which means the vibrations can easily move between them.” (Shared writing)
