WORLD WAR TWO DAY: Thursday 30th March 2017

We held a themed day of stimulating learning in Year 4, which we will never forget and is a tradition now here at Sandgate Primary School! It was a great celebration at the end of our CONFLICT/RESOLUTION topic over the last two terms.

Having had a couple of weeks to prepare ourselves; we all came to school in our character roles, ranging from evacuees and land-girls to important characters like Anne Frank, RAF pilots and even ‘GI’ soldiers.
Our teachers, Mr. Sharp and Miss. Hall had planned a range of fantastic activities, which included taking part in cooking ration biscuits (Oat crunchies- our second cooking session this term), singing WW2 songs to boost morale, producing some Blitz art (silhouettes of the London skyline during enemy fire) , in addition to posing for a professional ‘Photo shoot’ of us in our costumes.
